This application samples the sound from a microphone or dynamic pressure sensor (for larger blasts), and every half second records the peak sound level onto a graph in the software.  This data is exported into Microsoft Excel when the export button is pressed.  This is useful if you want to measure a few consecutive events and want to quickly compare the peak levels.
The software is compatible with National Instruments data acquisition devices:  The leading provider of PC-based data acquisition devices for PCI (plug into the desktop), USB, etc.  You can use a recommended hardware bundle from us or you can use your own National Instruments hardware from the approved list on our ReadME file.  The sensor options we recommend will work with any of the hardware bundles in the ReadME file.
 
The purpose of the software is use a microphone to capture peak decibel levels and import them to Excel.  We strive to make the installation and setup very simple - please e-mail us at support@justmeasure.net if you have any questions and we pledge to have a real person respond ASAP!

  • Automatically detects and installs 40 types of PC-based Data Acquisition devices from National Instruments (2 recommendations are above in the "Choose Hardware" section)
  • Accepts microphone or pressure sensor sensitivities from 0.001mV/Pa to 100mV/Pa
  • Stores the peak Decibel levels continuously every every half second for the most recent 60 seconds
  • Displays the last 60 seconds on a scrolling graph (to see what you're going to export to Excel when you're ready).
  • Clearly specifies proper connections to the sensor in the ReadME
  • Automatically Opens Microsoft Excel and exports 2 columns of data: "Time" (in half second increments) and "Data" (in Peak dB levels)
